Née en Australie, Dee Pénicaut fait ses études de Piano au Conservatoire de Sydney.
Elle part travailler aux Etats-Unis sous la direction du Dr. Edwin Hymovitz au New England Conservatory of Music de Boston (Massachussets), où elle est par la suite invitée à faire partie du corps enseignant. Parallèlement, elle suit les prestigieux cours de pédagogie de Lisa Parker (eurythmics) et Sandra Rosenblum (interprétation et style classique) à l'Université de Harvard.
De retour en Australie, elle est nommée Professeur de Piano et de Pédagogie au Conservatoire Melba de Melbourne.

Sa carrière de professeur et de concertiste se développe ensuite en Europe, en Asie et aux Etats-Unis. Elle se produit en Italie, en Allemagne et en Suisse comme soliste et accompagnatrice, avec une prédilection pour la musique de chambre: elle accompagne par exemple des artistes de renommée internationale comme Cesare Siepi, Marcella Reale et Bruno Lazzaretti.
Elle enseigne aux élèves et aux professeurs d'Université en Corée et en Australie en cours privés et en Master Classes de perfectionnement.
Pendant les années où elle réside en Italie, Dee participe régulièrement à des programmes musicaux radiophoniques et télévisés. Dans la même période, elle est invitée à faire partie du jury de concours internationaux, comme ceux de Novarra et Alessandria. Etablie en Asie, elle met en place et dirige en Corée le système d'examen de l'Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music de Londres.
Dernièrement, elle a trouvé le Dr. Edwin Hymovitz en piano duo à New York dans le cadre d'une série de concerts proposée par la Saint Andrew Music Society. Dee Penicaut vit depuis 2005 dans le Sud de la France, près de Nice. On a pu l'écouter en 2006 jouer à quatre mains avec Michael Desjardins à Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat et Monte Carlo.
Elle parle couramment et enseigne en anglais, français et italien.

Australian born pianist Dee Penicaut studied piano at Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She then left for the U.S.A. for further study in piano and pedagogy with Dr Edwin Hymovitz at the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Mass. At the end of these studies she was invited to join the faculty at the conservatory where she taught Piano and group performance.
Whilst at the N.E.C. she followed courses in eurythmics with Lisa Parker (Chairman of the American Eurythmics Association) and stylistic ornamentation with Sandra Rosenblum at Harvard university.
On her return to Australia she was named professor of piano at the Melba Conservatory in Melbourne.
Her career as professor and Pianist developed in Europe, Asia and the U.S.A. Whilst living in Italy she performed in the major centers eg: Rome, Milan, Genova and Bologna. She also performed in Germany and Switzerland as soloist and accompanist for such renowned artists as Cesare Siepi, Marcella Reale and Bruno Lazzaretti.
She teaches students and University professors in Korea in private lessons and conducts Master classes in the leading universities.
During her years in Italy she performed regularly on television and radio, and was a regular member of the jury for international competitions such as Novarra and Alessandria.
Whilst in Korea she started and directed the examination system of the Associated board of the Royal Schools of Music London. This system allows students to obtain a prestigious foreign diploma without leaving their country. Examiners are sent twice yearly from London to examine the students. It is the largest examination system in the world and has representation in most countries.
She recently gave a duo recital with Dr Edwin Hymovitz in New York as part of the concert series organised by the St. Andrew Society in Madison avenue.
Since 2005 Dee has been based in the south of France where she continues her work here and abroad. She was heard recently in Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat and at the Hermitage Monte-Carlo in duo recitals with pianist Michael Desjardins.
She speaks and teaches in English, French and Italian.
